One Rank One Pension (OROP) The implementation of ONORP was demanded by Ex-Servicemen for more than 40 years, but it was finalized in 2015. The Government accepted the ‘One Rank One Pension’ through its mention in the President’s address to both Houses of Parliament on 9 June 2014. The historical decision to implement OROP was taken on 7th November 2015, with benefits effective from 1st July 2014. Before the implementation of OROP, ex-servicemen were getting their pension as per the Pay Commission’s recommendation of the time when they had retired.…
