International Organizations Under UNO

The UN came into existence after the IInd World War in 1945, the UN was seeing many global issues which need to trace and work on it to reduce the challenges and try to resolve the issues in various areas.  So for that reason, the UN Formed many organizations to trace and reduce global issues worldwide.

International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)  1947 Montreal Canada It Promotes and changes the principles and techniques of international air navigation and encourages the Planning and development of international air transport to ensure safe and orderly growth.
Universal Postal Union (UPU) 1948 Bern Switzerland It Improves and coordinates postal policies among member nations, In addition to the Worldwide postal system.
International Tele-Communication  Union (ITU) 1947 Geneva Sets International Regulation for Radiotelegraph, telephone, and space radio communication
World Health Organization (WHO) 1948 Geneva Attainment of the highest possible level of health by all people
United Nations Relief and Work for Palestine Refugees (UNRAW) 1949 Amman and In GAZA It Provides Direct relief and works programs for Palestinian refugees. It is the only UN agency dedicated to helping refugees from a specific region or conflict.
United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) 1950 Geneva This UN agency has Aim to provide protection to refugees, Forcibly displaced communities, and stateless people, and Assist in voluntary repatriation, local integration, or resettlement to a third country.
World Meteorological Organization (WMO) 1950 Geneva This UN agency is responsible for promoting international cooperation in atmospheric science, Climatology, Hydrology, and geophysics. It also promotes the international exchange of weather reports.
International Finance Corporation (IFC) 1956 Washington DC IFC is an international financial institution that offers investment, advisory, and asset management services to encourage private sector development in less developed countries.
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) 1957 Vienna To promote the peaceful use of atomic energy and to inhibit its use for any military purpose, including nuclear weapons.
Inter-Government Maritime Consultative Organization (IMCO) 1959 London The primary purpose of IMCO is to develop and maintain a comprehensive regulatory framework for Cooperation on technical matters of maritime safety and security, legal matters, environmental concerns, and the efficiency of shipping.
International Development Association (IDA) 1960 Washington DC It is an affiliate or part of the World Bank, and It has aimed to help under-developed and poorest countries to raise the living standards and poverty reduction
United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) 1963 Geneva It Provides training and research to help to facilitate UN objectives for World Peace, Security, Economic and Social progress
United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) 1964 Geneva To Promote International Trade to accelerate the economic growth of developing countries. It also deals with trade, investment, and development issues.
United Nation Development Program (UNDP) 1965 New York It Promotes Technical and investment cooperation among nations and advocates for change and connects countries to knowledge, experience, and resources to  Help developing countries to increase the Wealth producing capabilities of their natural and human resources to build life better themselves.
United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) 1966 Vienna To Promotes Industrial development for poverty reduction inclusive globalization and environmental sustainability
United Nations Fund for  Population Activities (UNFPA) 1969 New York Studying population dynamics, Collecting population data, Formulation and evolving population policies, family planning, and related programs. It also works for improving reproductive and maternal health worldwide.
United Nation Environmental Program (UNEP) 1972 Nairobi UNEP’s mission is to provide leadership and encourage partnership in caring for the environment by inspiring, informing, and enabling nations and peoples to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations.
International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) 1977 Rome It is an International Financial institution and it works to address poverty and hunger in rural areas of developing countries. Also works For Financing agricultural projects in the world to raise economic growth.
World Trade Organization (WTO) 1995 Geneva WTO regulates and facilitates International trade between nations. The WTO facilitates trade in goods, services, and intellectual property among participating countries by providing a framework for negotiating trade agreements, usually aim to reduce or eliminate tariffs, quotas, and other restrictions.
